3D ProjectorTI aims to ship 2-3 million 3D-Ready DLP chips in 2011TI says that the company aims to ship 2-3 million units of their 3D-Ready DLP chips in 2011. In June, TI said that more than 300,000 DLP 3D-Ready projectors are installed worldwide, and they sold over 250,000 such projectors in 4Q 2009 and 1Q 2010 alone . via Digitimes
ASTRI is developing a compact 3D projectorASTRI (Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute) is showing a new compact 3D projector. It uses a LED light source and a 0.44" LCoS that supports 1024x600 resolution, 100:1 contrast ratio and is only 40cm3 in volume. It currently costs $200, and ASTRI plans to lower it to $150 when it is commercialized in 2011. When a power of 7W is used for the LED light source, the brightness is 60lm. The plan is to raise it to 100lm by 2011.
More than 300,000 DLP 3D-ready projectors are installed worldwideTI (who makes the DLP chip) says that more than 300,000 DLP 3D-Ready projectors are installed worldwide. In 4Q 2009 and 1Q 2010 alone they sold over 250,000 such projectors. TI further says that DLP is enjoying a strong market share growth, across industry. Part of that gain is due to good sales of single-chip 3D data projectors.
Aiptek to launch a 3D picoprojector, webcam and digital photo frameAiptek's i2 3D camcorder is up for pre-order for $199 and will be released August 15th. But Aiptek is planning more 3D products: a 3D web-cam, digital photo frame and pico-projector. We already heard that Aiptek plans to offer a 50-lumens 3D pico projector in March 2011, and a 100-lumens model in 2012 that will not require glasses.

Sanyo to release a short-focus 3D projectorSanyo is going to release a new short-focus front projector, that supports active-shutter 3D (@120Hz). The PDG-DWL2500J can project images to an 80" screen from a distance of 32cm (the distance from the projection window to the screen) weights less than 9 Kg. We do not know the price yet, but TechOn reports that the expected street price is about ¥450,000 (approx US$5,000). Sanyo plans to sell 2,000 units per month.
Apple patents an interactive, glasses-free 3D projected holographic displaysApple has filed a new patent titled "Three-Dimensional Display System" describes a projection screen with an "angularly responsive reflective surface.". They are exploring ways that would allow multiple users to manipulate 3D objects in space, without the need for glasses. More information over at AppleInsider
