They have visited a best-buy store with several 3D TVs (from Samsung and Panasonic) and were quite happy overall - even though selling 3D TV is not as easy as it seems (for example some glasses use batteries which run dry after 30 hours of use. This means that the staff needs to make sure these are turned off after use, and replace the batteries when they die). Via HotHardware BCN: 3D TV sales in Japan are "not too bad"06/11/2010BCN, a japanese research house says 3D TV sales are "not too bad". According to their research, the ratio of 3D TVs in the Japanese flat-panel TV market during the periods from April 19 to 25, 2010, and from May 24 to 30, 2010, is 0.9-1.5% in terms of sales value and 0.2-0.3% in terms of sales volume. The only company that sold 3D TVs in that period is Panasonic. When Sony introduced their own 3D TVs at the beginning of June, the ratio of 3D TVs increased to 3% in terms of sales value and 0.9% in terms of sales volume. This also includes the advance sale of Sharp's 3D TVs. Via TechOn |
