Zoran will integrate Sensio's 3D decoding technology in their new 3D SoC solutions

Sensio logoSensio announced today that Zoran will integrate their Hi-Fi 3D decoding technology into new system-on-a-chip (SoC) solutions for 3D-capable audiovisual products, including TVs and set-top boxes (STBs).

SENSIO® Hi-Fi 3D is a unique frame-compatible technology for high-fidelity stereoscopic signal processing, easily integrated into display products. Developed by SENSIO more than 10 years ago and deployed in the field for seven years, this mature technology has been trusted by the biggest names in content creation for every commercial live 3D event presented in cinemas around the world, as well as for high-profile console games and DVD movies. This agreement is the sixth signed by SENSIO with major semiconductor manufacturers in the past year.

MediaTek to integrate Sensio's 3D technology into next-gen 3D TV SoC

Sensio logoSensio and Mediatek announced they will integrate Sensio's 3D technology into MediaTek's SoC products for the 3D TV market. The new SoC with Sensio's 3D tech will target the worldwide TV market. The chip will accept 3D sources from multiple inputs, including HDMI 1.4, the Internet, and USB.

Vizio's XVT-3D TVs priced and available for pre-order

Vizio's XVT-3D TV range are finally priced, and ready for pre-order. The 42" will cost $1299, the 47" will cost $1699 and the 55" will go for $2199. We still do not know when they'll ship, but it will be soon. The XVT3D are Full-LED LCDs (except the 42" which is edge-lit), has built-in Wi-Fi, support Vizio's Internet Apps and feature smart dimming. The TVs uses Sensio 3D technology and come bundled with XpanD bluetooth active-shutter glasses.

Sensio posted financial results for Q2 2010: revenues tripled over Q1

Sensio logoSensio posted their Q2 2010 financial results. They say that revenues tripled over the first quarter ($631,547, up from $210,161). The loss was $408,154: down from a $453,462 in Q2 2009.

president and CEO Nicholas Routhier says that "The FIFA World Cup gave Sensio excellent exposure, enabling us to generate a substantial increase in revenues in the first quarter. On the infrastructure side, we continued our strategy of increasing our presence throughout the supply chain, signing license agreements for integration into chips destined both for production and home entertainment products"

Trident to use Sensio's 3D techn in their new 3D TV chip

Sensio logoTrident says they will use Sensio's 3D technology in their upcoming 3D TV chip, the TV550. Sensio's technology converts the 3D image into Sensio's own 3D format which then can be transmitted over any 2D channel, at the receiving end 3D-content in Sensio format is decoded into original 3D content.

Vizio announces 3D LCD TVs

Vizio has announced a their new LCD series, the XVT Pro HDTV. These have LED backlighting, 3D TV (at full HD 1080p) support, built-in HD wireless and Smart-Dimming tech.

For 3D support, the sets will utilize Sensio 3D technology that delivers 3D content over conventional 2D infrastructure. Viewers can view compatible 3D content wearing optional XpanD active-shutter glasses (sold separately).

The TVs will ship in August. The 72" (480Hz) HD 3D TV will cost $3,500.The 55" one will cost $2,500, and the 47" will go for $2,000.

Sensio raised 10M$

Sensio logoSensio announced that it has raised $10 million. Earlier this year, Sensio has signed deals with Hyundai and Sagem.

Sensio's SENSIO 3D allows the high-quality distribution of 3D content through conventional 2D channels and playback on any display device, including plasma TVs, HDTV and glass-free 3D displays.
