Sharp shows 10.1" no-glasses 3D display prototype

Sharp has unveiled a new 10.1" 3D display (that can be used for netbooks or tablets). The display does not require status, and can be produced with or without a touchscreen. We do not know when they plan to mass produce it, or what the price will be.

More information on ASUS' G51J 3D laptop

There's some new information on ASUS' G51J 3D laptop. It uses NVIDIA's 3D vision technology, and has a 120Hz, 15.6" screen. The GPU is a GeForce GTX 260M (1GB of memory).

The laptop uses active-shutter glasses, and includes a USB 'IR blaster' that has to sync up with the glasses. The G51J 3D should be out soon, with a $1,700 price tag.

CPT to start shipping 3D panels in 2009

Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) plans to start shipping 3D panels at the end of 2009. These will be 15.6" notebook 3D panels, which will require special glasses. CPT actually says their 3D panels will range from 2.4" to 37". They are also able to buy larger-size LCDs and customize them to support 3D.

Asus to release two new 3D laptops

Engadget reports that Asus are set to release two 3D laptops soon. The G51J3d (photo below) has a 15.6" display and will ship in December. The G72GX (17.3") will be released in Q2 2010. Both use NVIDIA GPUs and a Core i7 processors.

Should we expect 3D notebooks from HP and Dell soon?

Digitimes reports that HP and Dell have placed orders for 3D notebooks from Wistron. The company is also negotiating with Lenovo and Sony. 

These should not be a lot priceier than normal notebooks, as they use Wistron's own 3D technology.

Acer demoed a 3D display notebook

Acer has showed off its 3D display notebook. It has a new 2D to 3D manipulation technology - which can create every 2D movie into a 3D. It requires glasses.

Acer wants to price the notebook under 2000$, which will be relativly low.
