Sonic Solutions and RealD to co-develop consumer products for the 3D home market.

Sonic Solutions and RealD said they formed an alliance aimed at developing consumer products for the nascent 3D home entertainment market.

Earlier this year, Sonic unveiled tools for 3D encoding, authoring and formatting in the Blu-ray 3D format and released Roxio CinePlayer BD, a comprehensive, 3D-capable media player for Windows that recently received Blu-ray Profile 5 certification from the BDA. CinePlayer BD will ship on new 3D-enabled systems from ASUS and MSI later this year.
