Report: Sharp's 10.6" parallax-barrier 3D display has some major problems

Sharp is showing their new 10.6" parallax-barrier (glasses-free) 3D LCD panels at the IFA exhibition. We know that the panel uses twice as much power as a normal LCD, and weights double, too - but now Engadget reports that the display also suffers from very serious vertical shadows (unless you're exactly looking at it in the middle from 20"). Also they say that the 3D effect "isn't all that dazzling":
