Pioneer shows 'Floating-vision' glasses-free 3D displays, plans to commercialize the technology

Pioneer has developed a new glasses-free 3D display they call 'floating vision'. It's based on an LCD display with special lens on front - that makes it seem that the image is floating in front of the display. Pioneer is combining this display with infra-red sensors that allow you to 'touch' the image an interact with it. Here's a demo of the system used in a prototype car navigation system.

According to reports, Pioneer plans to commercialize this, although they wouldn't say when such a display is expected to reach the market
