Philips plans to launch glasses-free 3D TVs in 2013-2015Philips is showing new glasses-free 3D TV prototype. The company plans to launch these in 2013-2015. That's what Dimenco, the company behind the lenticular technology used in Philips' prototypes, says, in any case. In the more immediate future, Philips plans to launch a professional monitor with the same technology within "months". The 3D panels uses a 4K resolution (four times 1080p), which produces 1080p 3D pictures after the lenticual lenses do their light-splitting magic. The technology isn't ready yet - the viewing angles are very limited, and currently only displays "specially created 3D content" - it won't work with a regular 3D Blu-ray, for example. Via Techradar
