Panasonic hopes to grab 50% of the European 3D TV market in 2010, to launch a 3D Lumix camera soon

Panasonic hopes to get at least 50% of the European 3D TV market in 2010. By August, Panasonic had a 35% market share. Samsung, which was the first company to actually ship 3D TVs is expected to be the top supplier worldwide (and they currently have a 88% market share in the US!).

Panasonic says that the demand for 3D TVs is high - and the company "had been caught by surprise by the high demand" - it was 3 to 4 times higher than their already aggressive estimates.

Panasonic also revealed that they will launch a new Lumix G series camera that will have a 3D lens. They will introduce it at the photography trade fair Photokina in Cologne later this month.
