NTT DoCoMo developed a glasses-free 3D display with force feedbackNTT DoCoMo is showing a new auto-stereoscopic (glasses-free) 3D display that also include force-feedback via a stylus. The idea is that the tip of the stylus there's a magnet, and there's a coil embedded inside the display - so they can generate magnetic fields anywhere in the display - effecting the stylus. The touch UI is done via two cameras that track the stylus in 3D. Here's a cool demo: see how the pen bounces off the display when the lizard struck out its tongue: NTT says that they have been working on this project for over two years - but there aren't any plans to commercialize it yet... via PCWorld
