Movidius announces the Myriad 3D co-processor for mobile phonesIrish company Movidius has unveiled a new chip called the Myriad 3D. It's a 3D co-processor for mobile phones that can handle user generated 3D video and images and also real time conversion of 2D videos to 3D. The chip is used together with an auto-stereoscopic 3D display (glasses-free), and will be demonstrated in CES 2011, although the company is already talking with major mobile phone makers to integrate the chip into their phone designs.
