LG's display chief: "we are struggling to sell our 3D TVs"

LG's chief executive of digital displays, Simon Kang, says that LG is struggling to sell their 3D TVs: "We previously thought that demand for TVs in the second half will be very strong, but as global economic conditions are worsening, this will impact the foreign-exchange rate and we may even have to raise our TV prices.".

LG are offering several 3D TVs, including the LD950 (passive polarized 3D), the LX6500 (active-shutter LED LCDs) and the top-of-the-line LX9500 (active-shutter LED LCDs). The LX6500 is shipping now: The 47" 47LX6500 costs $2,700, and the 55" 55LX6500 costs $3,600. The LX9500 is shipping in Korea and in the UK (for £2,375).
