Japan wants to host the 2022 soccer world cup and broadcast it in holographic 3D

This is a bit far-reaching, but Japan is proposing to host the 2022 world cup - and broadcast the whole thing in holographic 3D. They'll use 200 HD cameras to capture the game (and microphones underneath the playing field) - which can then be broadcasted as fully 3D images in real fields in other countries.

Oh, and the whole thing will be powered by solar panels and the kinetic energy created by the fans in the stadium...
