HDMI opens up the 3D part of HDMI 1.4 spec

The HDMI Licensing group has opened up the 3D part of the HDMI 1.4 spec. This means that non-licensees can use it to make their gear compatible with the new 3D spec. This is good news, as it makes it less likely we'll see incompatibility...

HDMI also plans to update the spec soon (it'll be called HDMI 1.4a), and they will also open that for the public.
