Engadget has visited HDI, and has posted a great post with lot's of info about this interesting company (whom we talked to just a couple of week ago). Here's the most interesting parts of that post:
- Engadget say that HDI's TV is the best 3D they've seen at home, very immersive and exciting.
- HDI TVs will only be available in Q2 or Q3 2011. They currently produced just 3 sets (that were actually sold...) and plan to produce just 10-12 beta sets before starting mass production. These will cost $100,000...
- Their TVs will include a fancy 2D to 3D convertor software.
- The TVs might come bundled with a 3D camcoder... it's not certain yet.
- The technology can be used for a front projector too, and they're working on such a product, which might ship around the same time the TV ships.
