ASTRI is developing a compact 3D projector

ASTRI (Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute) is showing a new compact 3D projector. It uses a LED light source and a 0.44" LCoS that supports 1024x600 resolution, 100:1 contrast ratio and is only 40cm³ in volume. It currently costs $200, and ASTRI plans to lower it to $150 when it is commercialized in 2011.

When a power of 7W is used for the LED light source, the brightness is 60lm. The plan is to raise it to 100lm by 2011.
