LG's 2012 range of passive 3D glasses. The F310 (on the right) is light 20% lighter than last year's basic model. The F320 (on the left) is a clip-on for other glasses. The F360 half-rim pair was designed by Alain Mikli.

Samsung SSG-3100GB

The SSG-3100GB is Samsung's basic active 3D glasses for 2011. They support bluetooth and offer up to 70 hours of viewing time (with rechargable batteries).

The SSG-3100GB are now shipping for $107, but Samsung announced that price will drop to $50 on May 1st.

Sanwa 400-3DGS001

Sanwa's 3DGS001 are universal active-shutter 3D glasses supporting 3D TVs from Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba and Sharp. They use rechargable batteries (using a USB cable to charge) and come in three sizes.

Samsung SSG-3700CR

Sasmung's SSG-3700CR are the lightest active-shutter glasses in the world - only 28 grams. They are Bluetooth equipped and come with a charging base (the CY-SWC1000A).

The glasses are now shipping for $167, although price may drop soon, according to Samsung.

XpanD Youniversal 3D glasses

XpanD Youniversal 3D glasses are active-shutter 3D glasses that feature bluetooth or USB connectivity to your iPhone or Android phone - so you their performance can be calibrated - you can change the transition time to improve brightness or reduce ghosting.

The Youniversal glasses are expected during 2011, and will be priced at the high-end of the market.

NXG Technology NX-3DG

NXG's NX-3DG are Samsung 3D TV compatible active-shutter glasses. They run up to 70 hours on batteries. And NXG says that the glasses will also work on 'most' 3D projectors.

The NX-3DG costs $69.99 - a cheap alternative to Samsung's own 3D glasses which costs over $130.

Vizio VSG102

Vizio's VSG102 active-shutter 3D glasses supports Vizio's XVT-3D range of LCD TVs. They use rechargeable batteries (uses a dual-USB charging cable) which last up to 24 hours between charges.

Vizio are selling two pairs of glasses for $199.99. The XVT-3D TV themselves are now shipping: the 42" costs $1299, the 47" costs $1699 and the 55" costs $2199.
